During the 1990's, Linda and her husband, Robert, adopted two children from Guatemala.  Over the years, Linda looked for ways in which to return to Guatemala with her children and participate in a meaningful way in the country in which her children were born.  In 2006, Linda connected with two organizations that work with the very poor of Guatemala.  Through these connections, Linda and her children were able to travel to Guatemala in 2007 and participate in a house build for a poor family.  The adventure provided an opportunity to form relationships with the beautiful people of Guatemala and experience first-hand the realities of life in the country to which they are forever connected.

From that experience, the youngest child shared the pictures and stories of the trip with his school.  Out of his challenge to his schoolmates to 'build a house in Guatemala' came an innovative school fundraiser.  In two weeks, the school community of St. Hubert, raised $2,000.00 to build another house in Guatemala for a poor family.
